Actor/Company Member (Female)

Actor/ Company Member (female) wanted to join our renowned, award winning theatre company specialising in interactive children's theatre and adult dramas. 20 hours per week leading to full time for the right person. After training you will act in our plays, take youth theatre workshops, assist with stage management, wardrobe, marketing, and administration plus be involved in our education programme. You must be skilled at accents, physicality and characterisation and a hard working, good all round performer. Excellent spoken English is required. You must be energetic, committed, organised, with a passion for performing, and want to be part of our very close knit team. Dance skills are an advantage. You need to be able to commit for at least two years and to go on short tours.

A degree/ drama school training is not essential- your down to earth, flexible outlook and strong work ethic are.

Job starts 6th January. Auditions and interviews 19th December. DBS and references required. This position is paid at relevant minimum wage.

Theatre Administration Intern - Paid

This renowned, award winning theatre company specialising in theatre for children and young people, is looking for a paid Theatre Administration Intern.

Theatre Administration, Production and Marketing - everything from answering phones/email, reception, typing, data entry, marketing displays, press releases, office and theatre maintenance and cleaning, cash handling, financial records and assisting in any aspect of producing and marketing. Front of house, Box office. An all round internship.

You should be highly organised with business or administrative training/ experience; excellent IT skills, good English and be meticulous. We tour so you must be prepared to live away for short periods. Enthusiasm, energy, being a supportive team member, determination to complete tasks, self -motivation, self -management and responding well under pressure are key aptitudes and skills.

This internship would suit someone seeking their first post in the profession or moving on from a voluntary role.

Technical Theatre Intern - Paid

Production and Technical theatre Intern required for this renowned professional theatre company specialising in working with children and young people.

You will do everything from loading vans, fitting up and striking, cabling, rigging lighting/steel deck, theatre maintenance and cleaning, stage management, propping and assisting in any aspect of production work. Front of house, Marketing, Box office. An all round internship.

You should be physically fit with Technical theatre/ stage management training or experience; IT skills, competent maths and money handling. We tour so you must be prepared to live away for short periods. Enthusiasm, energy, being a supportive team member, listening to instructions accurately, determination to complete tasks, self -motivation, self -management and responding well under pressure are key attributes and skills.

This would be a good first experience of this role or a step on from a volunteering role.

Front of House Staff

We are looking for someone to work in Front Of House on a paid casual basis when needed.
This would involve greeting the audience, seating them, selling merchandise and refreshments, handing programmes, answering queries, handling money, using a card machine and selling tickets, looking after the audience in accordance with health and safety, maintaining a tidy and clean foyer and auditorium and forecourt, handing fliers, tidying up after the audience leaves, stock lists and any other tasks required.

You need to be a good team member, well presented, reliable and enthusiastic. Money handling experience would be useful.

The hours would be about 2-5 hours per session depending on the length of the play. We perform plays in school time during term before 3.30pm on selected week days and at weekends in the afternoon; also in all school holidays.

We need someone who can be flexible about their working hours and can respond at short notice. Training available.

Immediate start. This is a paid position.

Gallery space available

We are looking for more art / paintings / photographs to be displayed in our theatre.

We prefer to rotate our foyer every 2 months, but depends on when next display is available (so may be longer).

Volunteer Costume Makers

We are looking for people to make costumes for upcoming shows.
Ideally you will have your own sewing machine and the ability to understand patterns.
We will provide all threads, material and patterns for you to use.

This is a great learning experience and a chance to shine behind the scenes.
Don't worry we wont overload you with millions of costumes to make - just a few now and again!
