We teach
all types of performing arts skills including improvisation, comedy, mime,
physical theatre, musical theatre and movement with the emphasis firmly on fun
and imagination, including script work, practitioners and mask work as they get
older. We sometimes put on small plays
(eg. The Lion King, The Wizard of Oz, The Pied Piper) with just the children in
their group for Mums and Dads to watch.
We also put on full
scale productions which tend to be performed in May Half Term. Members can audition if they wish, and then
get the opportunity to work with our professional Director, Choreographer and
Musical Director and rehearsals are free!
The only extra cost may be a show t-shirt, a script and small costume
items (eg. tights).
We also have singing,
dance, drumming and musical theatre workshops!
See the left hand menu for more details.
If you have any
questions, please contact us on 01634 829468 or office@spotlites.co.uk, and please call us to enroll before coming along! We cannot accept people who have not phoned
and enrolled first! We look forward to
hearing from you!
What Mums & Dads have said
“May I thank you for all
the fantastic work you have done and how you have helped build his confidence
in himself and in acting over the years” – James’
Mum
“Can I thank you all for
giving him so much fun and for the care and concern you show for the
children. We have always been impressed
with your whole setup” – Zac’s Mum
“I am writing to
congratulate you on the delightful production.
I didn’t just enjoy it because my little grandson was in the cast,
although of course my husband and I both enjoyed his performance – all credit
to you for keeping him so keen throughout.
He was so happy about the whole thing and I do appreciate what hard work
he can be… even though we love him to bits!
As an ex-teacher, I do think that producing Sunday’s effort from start
to finish in a week was so good and the production made a great impact on me
because of the use of resources.
Obviously your experience of producing physical theatre and special
effects made for the success – but I enjoyed the enthusiasm of the children so
much. Thank you for a charming evening” – Joseph’s
Grandma
“Thank you for all your
hard work. Mugamba loves the sessions” – Mugamba’s Mum
“Can I also take this
opportunity to a) say how brilliant ‘The Pied Piper’ show was and b) say thank
you to you all for the fun and encouragement you give to the children – he
really enjoys drama” – Zachary’s Mum
