🎭 Casting Call Overview
No Frills Theatre invites actors of all backgrounds, ages, and experience levels to audition for our November 2026 production of The Shawshank Redemption, adapted for the stage by Owen O’Neill & Dave Johns, based on Stephen King’s novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption.
This is a gritty, character‑driven ensemble piece exploring hope, injustice, friendship, and survival inside Shawshank State Penitentiary. We’re seeking committed performers ready to collaborate, explore, and push themselves artistically.
📅 Key Dates
Pre‑Audition Workshop (MedFringe): Tuesday 14 July 2026 An open, exploratory session where you can meet the creative team, work with scenes, and get a feel for the tone and physicality of the production. Attendance is encouraged but not required.
Auditions: Tuesday 28 July 2026 Auditions will consist of script and group work, and character exploration.
