Fort Luton is one of Medway’s most unique and atmospheric venues – a historic hilltop fort transformed into an intimate performance space. Steeped in heritage and character, it offers a truly memorable setting for live events.

 

With seating for around 50–60 people, the venue creates a close, engaging experience between performers and audiences. Its enclosed structure and curved spaces provide excellent natural acoustics, making it particularly well-suited to comedy, spoken word, and acoustic performances. A dedicated sound technician is on hand to support performers and ensure high-quality audio throughout each show.

 

A separate bar area allows audiences to relax and socialise before and after performances without interruption, with refreshments available on site.

 

As both a heritage site and a creative hub, Fort Luton brings together history, community, and the arts—making it a standout destination within this year’s Med Fringe Festival.

MedFringe venue 4 – The Glassbox

This 332-capacity multi-purpose space was developed to support the Performing Arts and Music Performance/Production courses and has a year-round programme of events. The theatre is a flexible space with 148 seats in tiered raked seating and additional capacity of up to 184 seating at floor level. The venue is step-free throughout and there is accessible parking available. For smaller events, the GlassBox Bar or the Community Hub can be booked independently for up to 50 guests. There are also four dance studios that are ideal for hosting workshops and classes.
